How to use
Barley straw is great for the prevention of algae. When it begins to decompose it releases chemicals into the pond that stunt the growth of Algae.
The best way to use our Pond Rescue nets are to place them in the water in spring when the sun is out for longer but the temperature is still low. The decomposition can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months depending on how warm the water is.
Once the natural chemicals are released they should remain active for a few months.
We suggest placing your barley net on the surface of the water to allow it to aerate and begin the process of decomposition.
History of the Farm
The Friendly Farmers were born from the desire to combine the branding of our products, sourced directly from the farm, with a name that conveys confidence and honesty! Our farm is made up of over 500 acres of land which gives a home ewe lambs, horses, chickens and ducks, a couple of dogs, and the grassland that feeds them all. Our farm houses 5 companies, but our main focus is hay, fodder and straw production for UK and export.
The ethos behind the farm is in fact under its land and this is where the real fun begins! It is the soil, its health and its central position in the future of our planet. Microbes, mycorrhizal fungi, carbon sequestering, all of which we begin to realise play major roles in balancing our existence.

Next Day Delivery Orders placed before 12pm on working days are eligible for next day delivery. Any orders made after 12pm or on weekends and bank holidays will be processed the next working day.
