Romney Sheep Wool for Gardening – Compost, Mulch & Insulation🐑
Give your garden a boost the natural way with 100% raw British Romney Sheep wool, a sustainable, chemical-free solution trusted by gardeners, allotment keepers and smallholders.
How to Use
This versatile, untreated wool is ideal for a wide range of garden uses:
🌱 Mulch: Lay around vegetables, fruit trees, shrubs or pots to help retain moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.
🌿 Composting: Add to compost heaps to improve structure, airflow and microbial activity. Wool breaks down slowly and enriches the final mix with nitrogen and carbon.
🌼 Insulation: Keeps compost warm and active during colder months, and protects raised beds from frost.
🐌 Slug Deterrent: Naturally fibrous texture helps deter slugs and snails without chemicals.
♻️ Fully Biodegradable: Returns to the earth naturally over time – no waste, no harm.
🐓 Pet & Livestock Friendly: Commonly used for lining chicken coops and rabbit hutches. Safe and breathable.

History of the Farm
The Friendly Farmers were born from the desire to combine the branding of our products, sourced directly from the farm, with a name that conveys confidence and honesty! Our farm is made up of over 500 acres of land which gives a home ewe lambs, horses, chickens and ducks, a couple of dogs, and the grassland that feeds them all. Our farm houses 5 companies, but our main focus is hay, fodder and straw production for UK and export.
The ethos behind the farm is in fact under its land and this is where the real fun begins! It is the soil, its health and its central position in the future of our planet. Microbes, mycorrhizal fungi, carbon sequestering, all of which we begin to realise play major roles in balancing our existence.
We take extreme pride in all that we have built here at Shelvin Farm and its continued contribution we hope you can share in it too.
