Timothy Hay 5kg Box

This year’s Timothy Hay is extra green and soft with very few seed heads. Just as nutritious and tasty for your furry friends, they won’t mind a bit!

We understand the price feels high this year and that is due to the weather leaving very little crop. If you would like a more budget friendly option our meadow hay is a lovely choice and still full of the quality you expect from us.

Description

This year’s weather gave farmers everywhere a bit of a challenge, and our Timothy Hay is no exception. The crop came through beautifully green and fresh but with very few seed heads. While it might look a little different to what you’re used to, it’s every bit as nutritious, and in our opinion, even nicer!
Your furry friends won’t notice the missing seed heads, but they’ll definitely enjoy the soft texture and lovely fresh smell.

History of the Farm

The Friendly Farmers were born from the desire to combine the branding of our products, sourced directly from the farm, with a name that conveys confidence and honesty! Our farm is made up of over 500 acres of land which gives a home ewe lambs, horses, chickens and ducks, a couple of dogs, and the grassland that feeds them all. Our farm houses 5 companies, but our main focus is hay, fodder and straw production for UK and export.

The ethos behind the farm is in fact under its land and this is where the real fun begins! It is the soil, its health and its central position in the future of our planet. Microbes, mycorrhizal fungi, carbon sequestering, all of which we begin to realise play major roles in balancing our existence.
We take extreme pride in all that we have built here at Shelvin Farm and its continued contribution we hope you can share in it too.
